Thanks to the potential-free contact, electric underfloor heating systems can also be connected in addition to water-bearing underfloor heating systems with servomotors, provided the maximum load is 3A. We also recommend the use of a floor sensor as a protective function for electric underfloor heating.
To adjust the valves of your underfloor heating, proceed as follows:
If you have not yet connected the Room thermostat II 230 V to the Smart Home controller, call up the configuration menu with a long press (at least 3 seconds) on the adjusting dial and set or change the valve type. See the installer mode in the quick guide on page 15.
Once connected to the smart home system, the setting can be adjusted at any time in the app via the thermostat's device settings.
If your heating does not work in a room, please have the connections to the Room thermostat II 230 V checked for correct wiring by a qualified electrician. When using 230V servomotors, please use the enclosed jumper. Please also note the maximum ohmic switching capacity of 3A.

Room Thermostat II 230V - Operations
Yes, this is possible. Please refer to the information on "Installer mode" on page 12 in the enclosedQuick guide.
In any case, this situation has nothing to do with our Room thermostats.
If the underfloor heating does not generate any noticeable heat even after hours and the settings for the valve type are correct, we recommend contacting a heating specialist.
To activate the childproofing of the Room thermostat, please open the Bosch Smart Home app and then the device settings. Then select the corresponding Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V and set the "Child lock" option to "on".
The childproof lock can also be activated by pressing the system button for 3 seconds until the "LCK" display appears.

Yes, the Room thermostat II 230 V, like the Radiator thermostat II, has an automatic valve protection function or limescale protection. This starts every Saturday at 11 am.
This setting can be made in the installation wizard or on the device configuration page in your Bosch Smart Home System app.
Under Menu >> Services >> Climate manager>> Heating pause & cooling, you can activate or deactivate the heating pause room by room.
Once activated, the heating pause is indicated by a pause symbol on the display of the corresponding thermostat and a message in the Smart Home app.
The thermostats are then switched off in summer, for example. Scenarios and automations then ignore the temperature settings for the corresponding room.
To activate the lighting of your Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat II or Room thermostat II 230 V, briefly press the system button on the control unit.
With Room thermostat II 230 V, you can also turn the system button to do this.
The pause symbol in the display of the Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V means that the valve is closed and control is no longer taking place. This is the case, for example, when the "Heating pause" is active in the "Climate manager" service.
The frost protection function and limescale protection remain active during this time.
The humidity is shown on the display of the device and in the Bosch Smart Home app under the room overview.
To reset the Room thermostat II 230 V, remove the control unit from the flush-mounted component.
Press and hold the adjusting wheel until "RES" appears on the display when resetting.
Release the adjusting wheel and press it again until the LED strip flashes green. The device will then restart.
Check whether the display on the device shows error messages, such as the connection status using the radio symbol. Follow the corresponding instructions in the enclosedOperating instructions. Also pay attention to error messages in the app.
If the display no longer shows anything and provides no further information, the power supply may have been interrupted.
Underfloor-heating room thermostat 230V in conjunction with a heat pump is a prerequisite for using the cooling function on the Room thermostat II 230V.
The heat pump must also support a cooling function.
The measured actual temperature is shown on the display as standard. By turning the adjusting dial, you can set the desired target temperature, which changes back to the actual temperature after a short time.
Each device records the sensor values at its own location. Due to measurement tolerances and local conditions as well as different positions in the room (ceiling, wall, windows, doors), the measured values may vary.
Yes, this is possible. Please refer to the information on "Installer mode" on page 12 in the enclosedQuick guide.
Room Thermostat II 230V - General Information
Room Thermostat II 230V - General Information
Room thermostat II 230 V requires a 230 V power supply. It has a switching actuator (Relay) to switch air conditioning systems with wired control (with and without potential).
The Room thermostat II is powered by 4xAAA batteries. It does not have its own Relay (no switching actuator) and can only send information to other smart end devices by radio via the controller.
Communication between Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V and the Bosch Smart Home controller II takes place via the Zigbee radio standard (2.4Ghz)
The thermostat itself has no ventilation detection. However, in combination with a Door/window contact from Bosch Smart Home, it indicates an open window and can automatically switch off the heating in the room.
The heater type setting in the app adjusts the parameters and control for boilers (potential-free), underfloor heating (or other 230V application) and radiators (purely radio application, switching output is not used).
If your Room thermostat II 230 V does not switch off, check and change the setting for the valve type (normally open/ normally closed) in the Smart Home app according to your heater type.
In addition, the wiring on the Room thermostat II 230 V and the servomotor should be checked by a qualified electrician.
When using servomotors, carry out a visual inspection of the valve for possible defects. Please also check whether the cooling mode has been activated by mistake.
Room thermostat II 230 V is not suitable for installation in switch series due to the external product dimensions of 86 x 87 mm.
No, this is currently not possible for technical reasons
Our Room thermostat II 230 V can switch a resistive load of up to 3A. Inductive loads can be switched up to 1A.
No, the "quick heat-up" function in the Smart Home app is intended for our smart Radiator thermostats.
Yes, as with our Bosch Smart Home Radiator thermostats, temperature adjustment is also possible with our Room thermostats. To do this, open the device settings of your Bosch Smart Home app and select the corresponding device under "Room thermostats". You now have the option of setting up the temperature adjustment according to your needs, for example to compensate for differences between the measured values on the Room thermostat and a reference sensor.
Please note that underfloor heating, for example, requires a little more time to heat up a room due to its energy-efficient way of heating. Plan for this heating time when you store different heating times or heating profiles via the Bosch Smart Home app.
Room thermostat II 230 V controls an actuator on the existing heating circuit manifold, for example. In some systems, several heating loops are controlled via an actuator, which do not necessarily have to run in the same room (e.g. open first floor without partition walls). It would also theoretically be possible to run a heating loop across several rooms (e.g. if an open kitchen is subsequently separated from the living room by a wall). Control across room boundaries would only be possible in the constellations described due to the structural requirements.
