How do I install the Room thermostat II (installation)?
The Room thermostat II can be installed in just a few simple steps. All you need is the Bosch Smart Home app and the accessories included in the packaging. After starting the Bosch Smart Home app, it will guide you through the individual installation steps.

What do I use the sensor input for (Room thermostat II 230 V, measured value)?
You can connect a cable with an external temperature sensor to the sensor input and use it as a floor sensor, for example. The sensor cable is available as an optional accessory.
Is the Room thermostat II and the Room thermostat II 230 V protected against moisture and water (installation, requirements)?
Our Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat II has protection class IP 20. The first digit "2" stands for "protected against solid foreign bodies with a diameter of less than 12.5 mm" and "protected against access with a finger". The second digit "0" indicates that the electrical device is not protected against water and moisture.
Our Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat II 230 V has protection class IP 21. The first digit "2" stands for "protected against solid foreign bodies with a diameter of less than 12.5 mm" and "protected against access with a finger". The second digit "1" indicates that the electrical device is also protected against vertically falling dripping water.
After restarting the Smart Home controller II, my Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V is displayed as not available. What can I do?
Your Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V is still functional. It only logs on to the Smart Home controller again after a short time.

How can the childproofing of the Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V be activated (settings)?
To activate the childproofing of the Room thermostat, proceed as follows:
1) Open the Bosch Smart Home app >> Device settings >> Select the corresponding Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V >> Set the "Child lock" option to "on"
2) Additional activation of the childproof lock: Press the system button for 3 seconds until the "LCK" display appears
What does the pause symbol in the display of the Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V (settings) mean?
The pause symbol in the display of the Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V means that the valve is closed and control is no longer taking place. This is the case, for example, when the "Heating pause" is active in the "Climate manager" service. The frost protection function and limescale protection remain active during this time.
Why can't I use the temperature measured by the Twinguard for the room temperature (settings, functions, installation)?
The sensor in the Twinguard is a multiple sensor that can measure temperature and humidity as well as VOCs. Due to the specific requirements for Smoke alarms, the temperature can only be measured at regular intervals and not dynamically after temperature changes.
How many Radiator thermostats I and II can I connect to one Room thermostat II (requirements, installation)?
You can connect any number of Radiator thermostats II to a Room thermostat II. If you have assigned several devices to a Room thermostat II, you will find the corresponding overview under "Controlled devices" on the device configuration page of the Room thermostat II.
Radiator thermostats I are no longer compatible with Room thermostat II.
Is there historical data on Room thermostat II / Taumthermostat II 230 V curves and where can this be found (as a diagram or list)?

Where can the humidity measured by Room thermostat II and Room thermostat II 230 V be viewed (requirements, installation, measured value)?
The humidity is shown on the display of the device and in the Bosch Smart Home app under the room overview.
How long is the battery life of the Room thermostat II (empty battery, no function)?
The service life of the batteries is approx. 1 year with typical use. If the battery capacity falls below a critical level, the Bosch Smart Home app will inform you in good time. The battery symbol also lights up on the Room thermostat II display and the LED starts to flash red.
How does resetting the Room thermostat II to the factory settings work ?
You can restore the delivery status of the device as follows:
Open the battery compartment and remove one of the batteries. While keeping the rotary knob pressed, reinsert the battery. Press and hold the button until the status LED of the Room thermostat flashes orange and "RES" appears on the display. Now release briefly and press and hold the button again until the LED lights up green. The device will then restart. Please note that it may take a few seconds before the Room thermostat is ready for operation again.
When resetting to factory settings, only the settings and information on the device and not on the Bosch Smart Home controller are lost.
To learn the device again, first delete it in the device management of the Bosch Smart Home app and then add it again using the usual learning process.
What is the effect of the heating pause (settings, Room thermostat II 230 V, Room thermostat II, Radiator thermostat II)?
Under Menu >> Services >> Climate Manager >> Heating pause, a pause symbol is shown on the display of the corresponding thermostats and a note in the Smart Home app after activation. The thermostats are then switched off in summer, for example. Scenarios and automations then ignore the temperature settings for the corresponding room.
How can I activate the display lighting (Room thermostat II, Room thermostat II 230 V, Settings)?
To activate the lighting of your Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat II or Room thermostat II 230 V, briefly press the system button on the control unit.
With Room thermostat II 230 V, you can also turn the system button to do this.

Communication between Room thermostat II / Room thermostat II 230 V and the Bosch Smart Home controller II takes place via the Zigbee radio standard (2.4Ghz)

Each device measures the sensor values at its own location. Due to measurement tolerances and local conditions as well as different positions in the room (ceiling, wall, windows, doors), the measured values may vary.
What is the Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat II (functions, requirements)?
The Smart Home Room thermostat II is the perfect addition to your Radiator thermostat II. The Room thermostat II can be placed anywhere. Instead of directly on the radiator as before, the Room thermostat can now be used to measure the temperature in the room where it is most important to you. Particularly in large rooms or with concealed radiators, temperature control is much more precise and efficient with the smart Room thermostat II. You gain comfort and save energy if the room is only heated as much as necessary.
What is the difference between the Room thermostat II and a Room thermostat II 230 V (prerequisites)?
Room thermostat II 230 V requires a 230 V power supply. It has a switching actuator (Relay) to switch air conditioning systems with wired control (with and without potential).
The Room thermostat II is powered by 4xAAA batteries. It does not have its own switching actuator (Relay) and can only send information to other smart end devices wirelessly via the controller.
