Relay - Installation
I have not yet been able to set up a controller and the installer has already arrived. Can I also operate the Relay "offline" (settings, installation)?
The Relay is factory set to ON/OFF mode and configured for an ON/OFF switch. Therefore, if you connect a push-button, current will only flow as long as you keep the push-button pressed.
When pairing with the HOME Controller, you can then select the optimum configuration for you in the pairing wizard.
Why is the Bosch Smart Home Relay in impulse mode not available in Apple HomeKit (settings, installation, requirements, voice control)?
The Bosch Smart Home Relay is visible in on/off mode in Apple HomeKit. Unfortunately, this is not possible in pulse mode, as the status of the controlled device is not clearly known. In pulse mode, the Bosch Smart Home Relay only sends out a short power surge; this pulse is then processed by another device. Whether and how the pulse was processed cannot be interpreted by the Bosch Smart Home Relay.
However, a Bosch Smart Home Door/window contact II may help you to get a reliable jam message in Apple HomeKit.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes orange when I connect it. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The teach-in mode of your Bosch Smart Home relay is active or the Bosch Smart Home relay is communicating with the Bosch Smart Home controller.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes green when I teach it in. What does this mean (installation)?
The programming of your Bosch Smart Home Relay was successful or the process has been confirmed.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes red when I connect it. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The teach-in or the process has failed.
Where can I find connection diagrams for the installation of my Bosch Smart Home Relay (installation)?
To consult the various connection diagrams for your Bosch Smart Home Relay, please refer to the enclosed operating instructions.
Do I have to replace my existing switch or push-button to be able to use the Bosch Smart Home Relay (requirements, installation)?
No, the Bosch Smart Home Relay does not have to be combined with a switch or push-button. If you want to combine the Relay with a switch or momentary-action switch, this is possible. In this case, you can install the Relay behind the existing switch/button.
What is the difference between pulse control and on/off switching (Relay) (settings, installation, requirements)?
The impulse control is designed to control a current impulse relay with a current impulse (adjustable between 0.5, 1 or 2 seconds), e.g. for a staircase light (a push-button is simulated). In the on/off circuit, the Relay outputs the signal until the next actuation (a switch is simulated).
What pulse length can be set for the Relay (settings, installation)?
Values of 0.5, 1 and 2 seconds can be set during teach-in. Under the device settings (More--> Devices --> corresponding Relay), you can also set the values 3, 4, 5,...20 seconds after teach-in.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay does not fit into the appliance box together with the switch. What can I do (installation)?
We will shortly be providing an accessory that will enable you to install the Relay in the existing flush-mounted box to save space.
The accessories can also be combined with rockers and frames from a large number of switch series from well-known brand manufacturers.

How do I reset the Bosch Smart Home Relay to the factory settings (reset)?
To reset the Bosch Smart Home Relay to the factory settings, press and hold the system button until the status LED flashes orange quickly. Briefly release the system button and press again until the LED lights up green. The Bosch Smart Home Relay will now restart. Please note that it may take a few seconds before the Bosch Smart Home Relay is ready for operation again.
Alternatively, the following procedure is also possible: In the installed state with the push-button connected:
Press the button 6 times within a maximum period of 10 seconds.
If the rest was successful, the connected light source flashes briefly once again.
The device then restarts.
To register the device again, you must first delete it in the Smart Home APP.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes red every 15 seconds. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The Relay has lost the connection to the Smart Home controller. If there is no loss of connection, the Relay may be defective, in which case please contact our Service.
What does potential-free switching mean for the Bosch Smart Home Relay (settings, installation, requirements)?
Potential-free means that the Bosch Smart Home Relay opens and closes a contact in the connected circuit. The Relay works like a conventional ON/OFF switch, which only interrupts or briefly closes the circuit (push-button). The Realis becomes "smart" when it is controlled via the Bosch Smart Home APP and integrated into scenarios and automations.
Can the Relay also be used for DC voltage (settings, installation, requirements)?
The device itself requires a power supply of 230V/50Hz for operation, but AC circuits with lower voltages and DC circuits can also be connected to the potential-free output (up to 24 volts at max. 8 amps)
Do I need to connect a switch to the Releais (settings, installation, requirements)?
The use of an external switch is optional. All necessary functions (e.g. reset to factory settings or start pairing mode) are also possible using the system button on the device
I cannot create scenarios for my Relay, what is the reason for this (functions, automations)?
This function has not yet been implemented at system level. We are currently working on implementing this function and it is expected to be made available with the next update.

What is the Bosch Smart Home Relay (functions)?
You can use the potential-free Relay to switch almost any circuit or generate a current pulse for control devices. You can use the potential-free Relay to switch almost any circuit or generate a current pulse for control devices. This makes it possible, for example, to control the garden irrigation system or the garage door button smartly.
Can I also use my Bosch Smart Home Relay outdoors (requirements)?
Your Bosch Smart Home Relay can also be used outdoors if you use it in a suitable protective housing (e.g. IP66).
Can I control multiple devices with the Bosch Smart Home Relay (functions, requirements)?
You can only control one circuit at a time. However, you can integrate several devices into this circuit up to the power limit specified on the rating plate.
Can my Bosch Smart Home Relay measure energy consumption (functions)?
As the Bosch Smart Home Relay is a potential-free contact, it is not possible to measure the energy consumption.
Which radio protocol does the Bosch Smart Home Relay use (requirements)?
The Bosch Smart Home Relay uses the ZigBee 3.0 radio protocol and also serves as a range extender for other ZigBee 3.0 devices.
What is the difference between the Bosch Smart Home Relay and the Bosch Smart Home Light/shutter control II (functions)?
Light/shutter control II supplies connected devices with 230V/50Hz up to a power of 500W per channel. However, the Relay only interrupts the existing circuit of a device that is supplied with mains power or another voltage source.
