Please check whether the DIP switches of your Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren are set to the "Smart" position. The corresponding instructions and position can be found in theOperating instructionstake.

When selecting the installation location, you should consider the following points:

• Choose a mounting location with sufficient daylight if you want to operate the siren with the solar panel.
  A south, west or east orientation of the siren is particularly suitable for this.
• Make sure that the solar panel is not permanently shaded, e.g. by trees, houses or canopies.
• The siren should be located at a sufficient height to protect it from tampering attempts.

In Northern Europe (> 55° latitude), it may be necessary to operate the siren with a permanent power supply, as there may not be enough sunshine during the winter to sufficiently charge the battery with the solar panel.

Please note that work above a voltage of 50V and work on an existing burglar alarm system may only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Ideally, the siren should face south, east or west. Make sure that the siren is not permanently shaded, e.g. by canopies or roof overhangs.

You can extend the range of the Outdoor siren or Smart Home controller using the Smart plug compact. Simply place a Smart plug compact halfway between the controller and Outdoor siren.

When delivered, the Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren is set to "Smart" mode. Therefore, without a Bosch Smart Home controller, no alarm sound is triggered if the Outdoor siren is sabotaged.

The operating mode must be changed so that the Outdoor siren triggers an alarm tone in conjunction with a classic alarm system and flashes red as soon as the tear-off contact is triggered.

To do this, open the cover of the connection compartment on the back of the Outdoor siren. Now set the DIP switch 8 to the "Legacy" position.

If the battery of your Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren can no longer be fully charged, it must be replaced as follows:

1. first deactivate your existing burglar alarm system.

2. loosen the locking screw on the underside of the siren and remove the siren from the mounting plate.

3. open the cover of the battery compartment and set the on/off switch to off.

4. pull the battery connection cable out of the connection socket and remove the battery.

5. connect the cable of the new battery and place the battery in the battery compartment.

6. close the cover of the battery compartment and check the charge status of the battery before installing the siren and charge it if necessary (see also "Checking the battery charge status before installation").

7. set the on/off switch to "On".

8. close the cover of the battery compartment, place the siren back on the mounting plate and tighten the locking screw.

9. if necessary, reactivate the "Alarm system" function in the Bosch Smart Home System and/or your classic alarm system.

Clean the device with a soft, clean, dry and lint-free cloth. Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents for cleaning.

If the solar panel is heavily soiled (e.g. dust/flower pollen), its function may be impaired. In this case, clean the solar panel with a soft damp cloth.

The internal backup battery of the Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren can be easily recharged via USB cable. The battery does not usually need to be recharged during operation. It may only be necessary to recharge the battery during installation if the Outdoor siren has been stored for a long time.

To charge the Outdoor siren, the device must be switched on using the ON/OFF switch in the battery compartment.

To ensure that your Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren also triggers a visual alarm in the event of a break-in, the alarm system must be configured accordingly.

1. navigate via the tab bar of the Smart Home app to "Services" >> "Alarm system"

2. select the relevant profile (full protection etc.)

3. in the "Intrusion alarm" section, select "Visual alarm"

4. check the Outdoor siren box.

2. loosen the locking screw on the underside of the siren and remove the siren from the mounting plate.

3. open the cover of the battery compartment and set the on/off switch to off.

4. press and hold the reset button and switch the device on. Continue to hold it down until the status LED flashes orange.

5. release and now press and hold the reset button again until the status LED lights up green. You can now release the button again.

If the status LED lights up red, repeat the process or contact support.

If DIP switch 1 is set to "Legacy", the settings of the other DIP switches are still valid. If necessary, reset all DIP switches to their factory settings.

If you operate the siren with 5-28VDC, deactivate the power supply before performing the reset.

Please proceed as follows:

2. go to device management and remove the relevant Outdoor siren from your Bosch Smart Home app.

3. loosen the locking screw on the underside of the siren and remove the siren from the mounting plate.

5. press and hold the reset button and switch the device on. Continue to hold down the button until the status LED flashes orange.

6. release and now press and hold the reset button again until the status LED lights up green. You can now release the button again.

If the status LED lights up red, repeat the process or contact support.

5. connect the cable of the new battery and place the battery in the battery compartment.

6. close the cover of the battery compartment and check the charge status of the battery and charge it if necessary before installing the siren.

7. set the on/off switch to "On".

8. close the cover of the battery compartment and place the siren back on the mounting plate and tighten the locking screw.

9. if necessary, reactivate the "Alarm system" function in the Bosch Smart Home System and/or your classic alarm system.

The break contact of your Bosch Smart Home Outdoor siren has been triggered. Either tampering has been detected or the contact has been incorrectly adjusted. Check the siren and the situation. You may need to readjust the contact.

The primary power supply has failed. Check the power supply you have selected.

To check the battery charge status, open the cover of the battery compartment and switch the device on using the on/off switch. Press and hold the reset button .

The status LED on the underside should now light up until you release the button again.

• If the status LED lights up green, this means that the battery is sufficiently charged.
• An orange light indicates that it is recommended to continue charging the battery.
• A red light or no light means that the charge level of your battery is very low. You can charge the battery of your Outdoor siren via USB-C before installation.
