Eyes Outdoor Camera - Installation
How can I install the Bosch outdoor camera (installation, mounting)?
To install the Bosch outdoor camera, you will need the Bosch Smart Camera app, the accessories included in the packaging and, if necessary, a drill and screwdriver. We strongly recommend that you have the Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera II installed by a specialist company. Please also refer to our installation video on this page or on ourBosch Smart Home Youtube Channel.
Further details can be found in theOperating / installation instructions.
My Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera II flashes red and green after the QR code has been scanned. What does this mean (LEDs flashing, connection, range, WLAN, router)?
This flashing combination indicates that your Bosch Eyes outdoor camera II does not have a Wi-Fi connection.
Check whether you and your smartphone are in the same Wi-Fi network into which your camera is to be integrated. Also make sure that your smartphone is connected to your router via a 2.4 GHz connection. Check that the Wi-Fi password you have entered is correct. Then restart the camera and, if necessary, the integration via your app.
If you have any further questions or problems with the integration, accessibility or use of the device, please do not hesitate to contact ourCustomer supportreport.
Where is the best place to position my Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera II (installation, mounting)?
Ideally, place your Eyes outdoor camera II in a location where there is already a power supply (e.g. old outdoor light, Motion detector). You can determine your recording area using the variable manual alignment of the lens and via the app.
If required, you can hide certain image areas for recording. Motion detection is particularly precise if the passive infrared sensor is positioned so that moving objects cross the monitoring field horizontally.
It is also helpful to avoid direct sunlight/reflection.
How long are clips stored (recording, information)?
Video clips created by the cameras are always saved in the online memory for a period of 30 days. You can save clips
- prematurely by selecting them for deletion in the app
- longer by marking a clip as a favorite
- to the memory of the device you are using and store it there for the duration you wish.
Irrespective of the 30-day period mentioned above, the upper limit in the online storage is 200 clips. If this number is exceeded by newly created clips, the oldest clips that are not marked as favorites are automatically deleted.
My Bosch Eyes outdoor camera II has no WLAN connection. What can I do (router, Fritzbox, connection, range)?
If your Bosch Eyes outdoor camera II cannot establish a Wi-Fi connection, proceed as follows:
1. check the WLAN strength (on the camera and on the mobile end device).
2. if the WLAN is not sufficient, you can change the WLAN
3. go to Change Wi-Fi and follow the steps in the app.
4. if this error occurs with a camera that previously worked without any problems, please check whether your router is OK.
Note:If the camera still cannot connect to the WLAN, please check whether DHCP is active in your router and whether the integration of new devices is permitted (MAC filter address).
How can I set the Motion detectors on my Bosch Eyes outdoor camera (settings, functions)?
The sensitivity of the motion sensor of the Eyes outdoor camera can be adjusted via the event settings in the Bosch Smart Camera app. Depending on the setting, the camera will record a large number or just a few events.
How does the disassembly of the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera (installation, assembly) work?
To remove the camera, the locking screw on the wall bracket must be loosened using the screwdriver supplied. You can then detach the outdoor camera from the wall bracket.
My Bosch Smart Home camera lights up red. What does this mean (update, installation, restart, Eyes indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
A constantly illuminated red LED means that the camera is starting up. This process is completed after approx. two to three minutes.
What should I bear in mind when installing the Eyes outdoor camera II (installation, range)?
Ideally, place your Eyes outdoor camera in a location where there is already a power supply (e.g. existing outdoor light). Always mount the camera vertically and at the recommended height of between 1.5 and 2.5 m.

My Bosch Smart Home camera does not recognize the QR code. What can I do (installation, WLAN, settings)?
Your app generates a QR code using your SSID (Wi-Fi name), your password and your connection key so that the camera can connect to your home network and the Bosch Cloud. Hold the QR code in front of your camera lens at a distance of around 5-30 cm in normal daylight. As soon as the camera has recognized a correct QR code, you will hear a confirmation tone (Bing) and the camera will light up green continuously. A blue flashing light then indicates that the connection to the Bosch Cloud has been established. As soon as the connection is established, a continuous blue light is displayed for about 30 seconds.
Please note: If the Wi-Fi settings of your router have changed but the camera has not yet been re-learned, a sound signal will be generated to indicate that the connection has not been successful. Important: Please do not add a new camera, but use the "Camera settings >> More" in your Bosch Smart Home Camera app and adjust the Wi-Fi settings accordingly. Make sure there is sufficient lighting.

4. press a pointed object (e.g. a paper clip) into the small hole in the lower part of the camera and hold it down until the status LED in the upper part of the camera flashes red.

Is it possible to access the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera II remotely (connection, functions, recording, WLAN)?
Yes, remote access is always possible if both the camera and the smartphone have Internet access. Both components do not have to be in the same Wi-Fi network.
The prerequisite is sufficiently good Internet reception on the smartphone (via 3G/4G).
My Bosch Eyes outdoor camera II does not detect movement. What can I do (detection, recording, requirements, connection, range)?

Can I also share my Bosch Smart Camera streams with family and friends via the Bosch Smart Home System app (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, requirements, access app)?

Can I use the Bosch Smart Camera app at the same time or together with the Bosch Smart Home System app (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, requirements, access app)?
Yes, you can. We recommend that you continue to use the Bosch Smart Camera app to manage the settings of your Bosch Smart Camera. In some cases, this will also be able to play back the live video a little more smoothly.
If two users access the camera at the same time with different apps and make settings, the input of the user who last made a setting applies.
After how many seconds does the light go out again if nothing moves (lighting, detection, motion light, outdoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The lighting duration when motion is detected can be controlled via the app. Under Settings >> Lighting >> Motion light. You can currently select 30 seconds, 1 minute and 5 minutes.
What can I do if the light from the outdoor camera switches on too late (lighting, detection)?
If the camera has been installed in a vestibule at the end of an ascending staircase, the vertical monitoring angle of just under 80° in total (approx. 40° down/up in each case) may not be sufficient to detect the movement in good time. We recommend three possible solutions:
1. set the sensitivity of the Motion detector to "high".
2. create rules for the lighting so that it is activated on a time-controlled basis.
3. have the light activated by twilight rather than time control. With this setting, the ambient light illuminates the stairs. When movement is detected, the front light comes on and provides even more brightness.
