What should I do if the 360° indoor camera or Eyes indoor camera II cannot be connected (connection, range)?
Please check that your smartphone is in the same Wi-Fi network as your camera and that the signal strength is sufficient. You can easily check this with your smartphone by checking the Wi-Fi symbol on your smartphone at the installation location. This should be at least two out of three bars. If your camera flashes alternately green and red after QR code recognition (360° indoor camera) or after direct Wi-Fi connection with your smartphone (Eyes indoor camera II), it was unable to log into your Wi-Fi network. Check your Wi-Fi password and try again. If the camera flashes red and blue alternately, the connection to the Bosch Cloud could not be established.
Can I also use the 360° indoor camera or the Eyes indoor camera II in protected outdoor areas (mounting, installation)?
The product is only suitable for use in residential buildings, apartments and rooms with residential-like use and may only be used indoors together with original Bosch Smart Home components.
Any other use is not in accordance with the intended use. Any resulting damage is excluded from liability.
Why does my camera not support 5GHz in the WLAN (connection, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The 5GHz WLAN is mainly required for the transmission of very large amounts of data over a short distance and is not necessary for the application area of an HD Security camera. The use of 2.4 GHz WLAN enables greater ranges and therefore more stable image transmission.
Why do I have to activate the location data to register the camera and release it in the app (Settings, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
Activating the location data is necessary as the app also gains access to the smartphone's Wi-Fi settings with this release. The smartphone connects to the Wi-Fi that the camera opens during start-up in the next step.

My Eyes indoor camera II has noise in the live image and in the clips. What can I do?
Problem: Bosch Smart Home Eyes indoor camera II shows noise in the live image and in the video clips.
In rare cases, noise may occur in the live image and in the video clips after a restart (e.g. following a firmware update) of a Bosch Smart Home Eyes indoor camera II.
The undesired behavior can be traced back to the current firmware version.
If noise occurs, please disconnect the power supply to your Bosch Smart Home Eyes indoor camera II for a short time. After restarting the device, check the sound quality of recorded clips.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We are already working hard to rectify the error and will provide you with a solution in an upcoming firmware update.
If, even after a restart, you still experience noise, please contact ourCustomer service.
What conditions should be met for reliable person recognition?
For the person recognition function to work reliably, a person should be visible in the image for longer than 3 seconds.
If a person moves very slowly or at a great distance from the camera (>6m), the detection quality may be impaired.
The higher the camera is positioned, the better and faster it can recognize people.
The camera recognizes people more easily when they move across the camera's field of view.
People should be visible within the camera's detection range, unobstructed by furniture or plants.
Also avoid shining light directly into the camera lens, as this can interfere with detection.
What are motion zones used for (Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II, settings, false alarm)?
With motion zones, you only select certain areas of the image that you want to keep a close eye on. For motion zones, you can specify whether all movements or only people should be recorded in the zone.
Do motion detection and person detection also work through glass panes (Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II, settings, false alarm)?
At the highest two levels of the sensitivity control, the detection of people or movements also works through glass panes. The additional infrared sensor in the lower area of the camera is then not used as a second factor for detection.
When can false alarms occur during person detection (Eyes indoor camera II, settings)?
No video analysis algorithm achieves 100% correct detection of events as a human would. Ideally, choose a location where the camera has possible walking routes of people in its field of vision. The algorithm is optimized for the detection of adults walking upright. Partially concealed people, people who are not moving and people in unusual positions are not always classified as people. If people are only in the camera's field of vision for a brief moment and lighting conditions (e.g. backlighting) make it difficult to detect them, this can also impair person recognition. In rare cases, animals can also be interpreted as people, depending on the perspective and lighting conditions.
The LED ring of the Eyes indoor camera II lights up red during normal operation. What does this mean (LEDs flashing, lighting)?
The camera lights up red during clip recording and flashes red when a user has started a live stream from the camera. In these cases, the status LED lights up red so that people in the room are aware that they are being filmed.
If you want to switch off the red glow of the status LED, e.g. because it is more important to you that the camera is not seen, this function can be deactivated in the camera settings under "More" >> "Status LED".
Can I dim the power LED or switch it off completely (Eyes indoor camera II, LEDs flashing, lighting)?
This is possible under "Settings >> More >> Power LED".
How are I notified in the event of an alarm (pre-alarm, alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
In the event of an alarm, you will receive push notifications on your smartphone if these are switched on. You will receive this notification in the event of a pre-alarm (if switched on) as well as in the event of an actual alarm.
What is the siren and how loud is it (sound, alarm, Eyes indoor camera II)?
A siren is installed in the camera. The siren can reach a volume of >75dB in the event of an alarm. The siren can be triggered manually via the siren button in the app and sounds in the event of automatic alarms. If the pre-alarm is activated in the alarm settings in the app, a quieter warning tone sounds before the alarm.
Can I use my Bosch camera as an intercom system (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
You can use two-way communication via the camera and the Bosch Smart Home Camera app. This means that the camera has both a microphone and a loudspeaker.
Do motion zones capture all movements or only people (Eyes indoor camera II, settings)?
You can specify for zones whether all movements or only movements of people in the zone should trigger the clip recording.
How can I use the sensitivity setting to optimize detection (Eyes indoor camera II, Settings)?
Use the sensitivity setting to optimize motion detection and person detection. At the highest two levels, motion and people behind glass panes are also detected. Depending on the lighting conditions and perspective of the camera, a high sensitivity can also lead to false alarms in individual cases.
Which functions are supported in Alexa (voice control, connection)?
Our cameras currently support switching on and displaying the live stream on video-compatible devices.
Our outdoor cameras also support switching the light on and off.
Can the camera also record at night (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II, detection)?
With the help of an infrared light, the camera can also record in the dark with a detection range of around 8m.
The outdoor camera has a built-in front light for recording at night. This even enables color recordings at night.
How do I switch off an automatic alarm (Settings, False alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
You can mute an automatic alarm using the "Siren" button, i.e. the status LED on the camera and the siren go out. The alarm function remains active. The next activity detected by the camera leads directly to an active alarm with siren and flashing LED without delay and without a pre-alarm.
To switch off the automatic alarm function, please deactivate the "Automatic alarm" button or set the camera to privacy mode.
How can I set my camera to react only to people or to all movements?
Under "Settings" >> "Events", you can specify which activities should lead to a clip recording. With the "All movements" option, all detected movements result in a clip recording. With the "People" option, video clips are only recorded if people are detected in the image. In addition, detection can be restricted to zones.
Where can I find the settings for the events (movements, movement zones, person detection, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The camera must not be in privacy mode for this configuration, i.e. the camera head must be extended. This can be found under "Settings" >> "Events" >> "Motion on".
Does the alarm also go off automatically (Settings, False alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The camera's main alarm is automatically "muted" after 300s (or 5min), i.e. the status LED on the camera and the siren go out. The alarm function remains active. The next activity detected by the camera leads directly to an active alarm with siren and flashing LED without delay and without pre-alarm.
How do I set up a zone (settings, detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
You can create motion zones under "Settings" >> "Events". By clicking on "Add motion zones", you can individually create your zones and differentiate whether your camera should record all movements or only people within this zone.
Can the camera also be used locally without an Internet connection (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
If the Internet connection is temporarily lost, the camera will not record any event data or clips. Furthermore, clips that have already been recorded cannot be accessed during this period. As soon as the connection is restored, you can access your recorded clips again as usual.
What happens in the event of an alarm (sound, detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
In the event of an alarm, an alarm tone sounds and the LED ring flashes red. You will also be notified of the alarm in the app and via push notification (if push notification is activated).
What is the "Automatic alarm" (sound, detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
If your camera detects an activity, an alarm sounds on the camera and the camera LED flashes red. You can configure this "automatic alarm" under "Settings" >> "Automatic alarms".
Where can I find the status LEDs and where can I find the power LED (LEDs flashing, Eyes indoor camera II)?
Power LED = In the center of the top of the camera head
Status LED = The outer LED ring on the top of the camera head
What triggers are available for clips and alarms (detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
Events that are recognized by the camera lead to the recording of video clips. You can specify which activities are to be detected in the camera settings under "Events". For movements, you can select whether all movements or only movements by people should be recorded. You can also select that noises of a certain volume are used as triggers.
If your camera is integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system, alarms from the system can also lead to clip recordings.
What is the person detection of the Eyes indoor camera II (settings, recording)?
The Eyes indoor camera II distinguishes moving people from other movements. People detection is used to reduce false alarms and avoid irrelevant clip recordings, for example triggered by pets. People detection is optimized to detect people moving in rooms (e.g. entering or leaving a room).
How do I have to set up my Eyes indoor camera II so that the person detection works well (Eyes indoor camera II, set-up instructions, settings, false alarm)?
People detection is optimized to detect people moving around in rooms (e.g. entering or leaving a room).
To ensure that your camera can capture movements and people well, place the camera on a flat surface (table, shelf, refrigerator) at a height of at least 0.8 m.
Ideally, choose a location where the camera has an unobstructed view of people walking around.
How can I use motion zones to minimize false alarms (Eyes indoor camera II, settings, false alarms)?
In some image areas, movements or people should not trigger clip recording. Images of people on screens, mirror images of movements or people in windows or mirrors can also lead to unwanted clip recordings. Use the zone functions to exclude such areas and restrict detection to certain areas of the image that are relevant.
