Software Update Information
Bosch Smart Home System
25 March 2025
NEW FUNCTIONS
Light/Shutter Control II, Dimmer, Relay
Just like the Dimmer and the Relay, the Light/Shutter Control II now offers even more options for controlling the Smart Home system:
- All smart actuators now have a new option "Additional Button Assignment" on the device details page. With a convenient configuration wizard, you can choose from various predefined button assignments for short or long button presses — just like with universal switches. A button is required for additional button assignments. This function is NOT possible with a connected switch.
- The smart actuators can also be defined as Triggers in Automations triggers in automations. For example, by pressing and holding the button, you can switch off all lights when leaving the house.
- Decoupling of the Button Press by the electrical circuit (only possible with the Light/Shutter Control II when used as a light control).
In the device settings, you can manage the outputs and decide whether the smart actuator should switch the power supply to the connected devices when a button is pressed. This allows you, for example, to continue powering smart lamps, but switch them off wirelessly.
Room Thermostat II 230V for Central Heating
Similar to the Relay, the Room Thermostat II 230V can now be connected to a central heating system and linked with other room thermostats. This allows the device to send a heat request to the central heating system when heating is required in one of the connected rooms.
Requirements:
- Installation of the new firmware (see below)
- Configuration of the “Heating device type” as “Central heating”.
System Restart via App
The Smart Home Controller can now be restarted using the app. You can find this under: "More" > "System" > "Restart".
IMPROVEMENTS
Android App
- The app is fully supported from this version onwards. Android 15 and the so-called Edge-to-Edge Mode Android 11 or higher, which means that content may also be visible behind the navigation or status bar.
- The app can now also be used on small screens in Landscape Mode Edge-to-Edge Mode. All restrictions regarding screen orientation have been removed. This also fixes occasional problems on tablets.
- The red error display for a missing connection to the Smart Home controller or in the event of network problems, and the progress display when loading data, have been replaced by a new floating component at the bottom of the screen. Benefits:
- It is now clearer whether the app is currently trying to connect.
- In case of network problems, you can open the system settings for the network by clicking on the component.
- Some Design changes have been made:
- The appearance of the bottom sheets has been standardized.
- Dialogues have been visually enhanced.
- The status bar and toolbars are now transparent.
- The height of the buttons has been standardized (mostly larger).
- The minimum width of the tiles in the favorites has been increased.
- The indicator that shows that there are further device detail pages is now more clearly visible.
- The initial connection to the Smart Home controller via Remote Access has been accelerated.
Button assignment of universal switches, etc.
- Relays in on/off mode are now also available for selection if you assign "Devices" to them.
- In addition to the vertical assignment (e.g., top = on, bottom = off), actions can now also be assigned horizontally (left = on, right = off).
Room Temperature
- The button in the app for switching whether the measured or set temperature should be displayed on the favorites tile is now more clearly recognizable as a control element.
Relay
- New configuration option to define whether the relay should be closed or open when "On".
"Central Heating" service
- The central heating only receives heating requests from rooms in which at least one radiator thermostat has a valve opening > 5%.
New Firmware
- Light/Shutter Control II
- More precise setting options for shutter calibration parameters, button press detection, and configuration options for separating input and output.
- Radiator Thermostat II
- A fault has been resolved that caused the radiator thermostat to sometimes enter an endless loop during auto-calibration.
- Room Thermostat II
- New Bootloader
- Room Thermostat II 230V
- New Bootloader
- Support for connection to a central heating system
Bug Fixes
- Light/Shutter Control II
- A short delay has been added when controlling several Light/Shutter Control II devices (used as shutter controls) via a scenario to improve the reliability of the scenario execution.
- Radiator Thermostat II
- In some cases, setting the temperature offset for a thermostat could trigger a “temperature fall” message. This issue has been resolved.
- Dimmer
- In a few cases, the brightness setting via the slider was not sent to the device if the setting was in the minimum brightness range. This issue has been resolved.
- Eyes Indoor Camera II / Eyes Outdoor Camera II
- The link to the Bosch Smart Camera app in the device view was not working. This issue has been resolved.
- iOS App
- The dialog window for triggering E03 troubleshooting via the notification center did not disappear automatically after clicking the button. This issue has been resolved.
- When clicking the links to apps from the stores (Philips Hue, Bosch Smart Home, Buderus MyDevice), only the start page of the stores was linked, not the specific apps. This has been corrected.
- Android App
- Under certain circumstances, the execution of scenarios or automations via widgets could fail if the connection to the Smart Home Controller was established via remote access.
- The first attempt to connect to the Smart Home Controller sometimes failed outside the home network. This issue has been resolved.
- Fixing common causes of crashes
