NEW FUNCTIONS

Apple HomeKit

• In conjunction with a radio stick (868 Mhz), the Bosch Smart Home controller II supports the following devices, which can therefore be integrated into Apple HomeKit:
  • Radiator thermostat
  • In-wall light control
  • Smoke alarm
  • Underfloor heating room thermostat (24 V/230 V)
  • In-wall shutter control
  • Door/window contact
  • Smart plug

• The Bosch Smart Home controller and the Bosch Smart Home controller II support an additional device, which can therefore be integrated into Apple HomeKit:
  • Dimmer

Range extension

• The smart plug compact, light/shutter control II, room thermostat II 230 V, smart relay and dimmer devices can increase the radio signal range for certain products. By carrying out a signal strength test, you can now see how the connection between the device and the Smart Home controller is established. You can also see which devices strengthen the signal and how strong the signal is for the individual devices.
  You can find this under "More" > "Devices" > "Device type" > "*Individual device name*" > "Signal strength test".

New service: Heat surplus

• If there is a high surplus in energy from your photovoltaic system, your heating system may generate additional heat for a short time. The new "Heat surplus" function in the "energy manager" service, in conjunction with a heat pump, allows you to use your own generated energy to heat rooms in your house to a higher temperature. In this way, you will reduce your consumption when the yield of solar energy goes back to normal. You can find it under "Services" > "Energy manager" > "Heat surplus".
  To use this function, you require the energy manager and compatible devices.

Service reports straight from customer services

• With the new service reports, the customer services team can now contact you directly to provide information about current maintenance work and faults. If you do not wish to receive these notifications, you can disable them under "More" > "System" > "Notifications".

IMPROVEMENTS

Radiator thermostat, radiator thermostat II, room thermostat, room thermostat II, underfloor heating room thermostat, room thermostat II 230 V

• Time plans can be set as an action or changed in a scenario.
• Various heating phases with the same temperature value (e.g. 21 °C) can be changed together using the "Edit temperatures" function in the relevant time plan.

Room thermostat II 230 V

• The room thermostat II 230 V supports the heating type "radiator" and can be connected to the radiator thermostat II in the same room in order to transmit the current measured temperature. This temperature value is used by the radiator thermostat II instead of its own measured temperature in order to optimize heating control.

Data transfer from the Smart Home controller to the Smart Home controller II energy manager from Bosch

• When the "Data transfer" function was launched, users of the Bosch energy manager were advised not to start the data transfer yet. This restriction no longer applies with this release.

Android app

• Compatibility with Android 14
• Significantly reduced download size thanks to new file format.

iOS app

• Compatibility with iOS 17

BUG FIXES

Light/shutter control II

• The light/shutter control II could not be paired again if it was already integrated into the system. This issue has been resolved.

Light/shutter control II used as a light control

• A malfunction of the light control II in conjunction with the "Switch off automatically" function and the room light control has been resolved.

Accessibility of specific devices*

• Problems relating to the inaccessibility of end devices owing to blocked communication have been resolved.

Smart Home controller II / radio stick (868 MHz)

• Certain devices* could possibly not be deleted from the Smart Home controller II if the radio stick (868 MHz) was not connected.

Android app

• A bug that could cause outdated target temperatures to be displayed in the app has been resolved.
• When creating an automation with "OR" linking of the conditions, an "AND" link was saved under certain circumstances.

iOS app

• In the device details page, iPad users were not informed that exiting the page without saving would lead to the changes made being discarded.
• A problem which caused the app to crash during deletion on the product details page of a heating system has been resolved.
• Problems when linking Amazon Alexa accounts have been resolved.

General

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SingleKey ID

• Owing to the technical migration of the SingleKey ID, users who have integrated a Bosch Smart Home camera will have to log in again to the Bosch Smart Home app under "More" -> "Partners" -> "Bosch cameras" to reestablish the connection to their cameras. The users affected will be informed via service messages in the app.

General

• Update of various open-source libraries.
• Some functions and certain improvements and bug fixes will only be available after you have installed the controller update and app update.
