Software update information

New functions

• Apple HomeKit:
  The Bosch Smart Home controller II now supports additional devices, which can therefore be integrated into Apple HomeKit:
  
  • Light/shutter control II
  • Radiator thermostat II
  • Room thermostat II 230 V
  • Relay

• Smart plug compact:
  The Smart plug compact can now be used in combination with a room thermostat / room thermostat II for smart heating.
  
  • If both devices are in the same room, the room thermostat / room thermostat II controls the electric heating connected via an adapter compact in order to achieve the set temperature in the room.
  • The "Heating" purpose can now be selected in the device settings of the Smart plug compact .

• Smart Home controller / Smart Home controller II:
  With this release, you can now transfer most of your system data from a first-generation Bosch Smart Home controller to a Bosch Smart Home Controller II.

• Android app:
  You can now conveniently trigger scenarios via the touchscreen in your car. This requires both your smartphone and vehicle to support Android Auto.

• Universal switch / universal switch II:
  You can now add the universal switch to your favourites in order to see and check assigned functions as well as to gain direct access to the device settings.

IMPROVEMENTS

• Smart plug compact:
  New firmware (2.8) is available for the smart plug compact:
  • It supports a safety function for the “Heating” application. If the wireless connection should fail, the smart plug compact automatically deactivates the connected device.

• iOS app:
  Smart tips: You can now choose to receive useful tips, notes and information concerning your smart home.
• The latest security updates for your Bosch Smart Home controller and the apps.

BUG FIXES

• Apps:
  
  • Android
    
    • Devices with large screens once again show content in an adapted size.
    • Potential crashes of the climate control, due to changes to the time, have been rectified.

  • iOS
    
    • The following errors have been rectified:
      
      • Incorrect display in automations if a scenario was set as an action but no icon was assigned.
      • Flickering in favourites for various configurations.
      • Partially distorted display in favourites and on the device details page when the mobile device is held in landscape mode.
      • Disruption of the camera stream when navigating with swiping actions.

    • Other:
      
      • The smart plug compact can once again be deleted via the device configuration page.
      • Missing user-defined presets for Philips Hue and Ledvance lamps have been implemented.

• Universal switch / universal switch II
  
  • Light controls for which “Switch off automatically” was activated were not switched off in the case of the key assignment “Devices - Assigning a key”.

• Yale Linus® Smart Lock
  
  • A problem has been rectified which, in some cases, prevented a Yale Smart Lock from being deleted in the Bosch Smart Home App.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• REST API:
  
  • Apps released before 2022 (version 10.8 and earlier) will no longer be able to access the Smart Home controller following installation of the update. Please update your apps before installing the update, if necessary.
  • The public REST API 2.x is no longer supported. Open-source projects that have not yet switched to API 3.x will no longer be able to access the Smart Home controller following installation of the update. Please establish before the update whether any open-source projects currently in use are already compatible with API 3.x.

• iOS:
  iOS versions 12 and 13 are no longer supported with this release. You will still be able to use the existing apps on these devices but will no longer be able to install updates.
• Update of various open-source libraries.
• Some functions and certain improvements and bug fixes will only be available after you have installed the controller and app updates.

Notes on availability:

• The update for the Smart Home controller will be issued from 11.07.2023 .
• The update for the Smart Home controller is expected to be available to all customers from 12.07.2023 .

Smart Home android app

The following version of the Smart Home android app is issued:

• 10.16.2984

Notes on availability:

• The update for the android Smart Home app is expected to be issued from 18.07.2023 .
• The update for the android Smart Home app is expected to be issued to all customers from 24.07.2023 .

Smart Home iOS app

The following version of the Smart Home iOS app is issued:

• 10.16.1 (9271)

Notes on availability:

• The update for the iOS Smart Home app is expected to be issued from 18.07.2023 as an automatic app update.
• The update for the iOS Smart Home app is expected to be issued to all customers from 18.07.2023 as a manual update.
• The update for the iOS Smart Home app will be available to all customers from 24.07.2023 as an automatic app update.
