Door/window contact II (plus)
The discreet all-rounder for a better overview, break-in protection & sustainable heating:

Door/window contact II [+M]

Reliably detects open doors and windows – and the plus version even detects vibrations

Door/window contact II (plus)

Break-in protection and energy savings in one

The smart sensor for reliably detecting open doors and windows triggers an alarm and supports sustainable heating. Can be used flexibly in the Bosch Smart Home system or in Matter systems.

Perfect
overview

Running around the house is old news: thanks to your door/window contact (plus), you just need to look in the app to find out if a window or door is open or closed.

If the status changes, you are informed according to your preference either via push notification or Widget – whether you’re at home or out and about.

Smart break-in
protection

If your door/window contact (plus) detects that a window has been opened while your alarm system is activated, it triggers an alarm straight away.

The security version of the door/window contact even sounds the alarm if there are vibrations caused by break-in attempts.

Extra smart: you are warned of security risks if doors/windows are open when the alarm system is activated.

Effortless
sustainability

Your door/window contact (plus) makes it really easy to save energy – thanks to the “Sustainable ventilation” service:

if the smart window sensor detects that you are opening a window for ventilation purposes, the smart thermostats in the room are turned down automatically. This way, you avoid letting heat go out the window.

Matter

Flexible Use

The door/window contact II [+M] can be used with the full functionality of the Bosch Smart Home system or with the current features of the Matter standard*.

You decide how to use the device and what best suits your individual setup – even after you have purchased it. Switching between Bosch Smart Home and the preferred Matter system is possible at any time. You are always free to choose what to use!

*Information regarding integration and use is made available by the respective provider.

Querying the status via voice assistant

You can clearly see the status of your door/window contacts in your Bosch Smart Home app and via a Widget (iOS) or push notifications (Android).

If you don’t have your smartphone handy and certainly don’t want to have to dart through the house, you can simply ask your voice assistant:

“Hey Siri, is the window in the bathroom still open?”

Siri, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant will conveniently give you an answer to whether a window is currently open or closed.

Versatile in use

Your doors and windows are what you make of them: your Bosch Smart Home door/window contact (plus) has a small, compact and waterproof design – and can be used anywhere that you want to have an overview of whether something is open or closed.

  • Doors & windows
  • Garage door, summer house & garden gates
  • Medicine cabinet, cleaning cupboard & pantry
  • Letterbox
  • Cat flap
  • … and much more

There are no limits to what you can come up with. Thanks to the little all-rounder, you can stay informed about every time something is opened and closed in your home.

Using services, scenarios & automations

If you have the Smart Home controller, your door/window contacts (plus) are linked with all smart devices. They then work hand-in-hand – for more security, convenience and efficiency.

For example, the door/window contact (plus) is part of the important, pre-set services :

  • It triggers the break-in protection alarm system – if you have the plus version, it even triggers the alarm if there are vibrations.
  • In the “Sustainable ventilation” service, it turns down your smart thermostats when windows are open.

You can also integrate the compact all-rounder into custom scenarios and automations. You can find out how under “Here’s how it works”.

Sustainable ventilation – energy-efficient heating

This is how to avoid letting heat go out the window: if the door/window contact (plus) detects an open window, it automatically turns down the radiator thermostats in the room.

This happens thanks to the “Sustainable ventilation” service. The Smart Home controller communicates the open window to the smart thermostats. These then turn down the heating temperature while the room is being ventilated – and then continue to heat again automatically once the window is closed.

This allows you to save energy and heating costs without having to take care of it yourself – your Smart Home thinks for you.

With a button for pausing the sensor or as a smart control element

The button of the smart window sensor can also be used just as flexibly as the door/window contact (plus) itself.

  • A double press activates the break function. This allows you to open and close windows/doors once without activating services or automations. This is practical if you want to let some fresh air in at night, or let the dog out without triggering the alarm, for example. You can choose to end the break automatically after a certain amount of time.
  • Short or long presses of the button can be assigned as triggers for freely selectable actions, automations and scenarios. Find out more under “Here’s how it works”.

Suitable for every home

Your Bosch Smart Home door/window contact (plus) adapts to suit your home:

  • You have 2 different colours (white or anthracite) to choose from as the right version for your windows/doors
  • At just 3 mm, the magnet of the smart door/window sensor (standard model) can be fastened discreetly to the top or side of the window.
  • Do you have windows with multiple glazing? No problem! The door/window contact (plus) is also suitable for this.

Additional feature in the plus version: vibration sensor for break-in prevention

Your door/window contact (standard model) triggers your alarm system as soon as uninvited guests open a window or door.

However, if you have the door/window contact plus version, it never even reaches the point of a break-in:

For extra security, this version also has a vibration sensor, and you can set the sensitivity to one of 5 different levels.

This means that an alarm is triggered already when burglars start messing about your windows and causing them to shake – which will soon send any burglars running.

Which version is suitable for you?

Whether you opt for the door/window contact II or door/window contact II plus: both sensors can be relied upon to detect whether doors and windows are open or closed, or if they are subsequently opened or closed.
The difference is merely that the plus version also has the vibration sensor – and the size and attachment options of the magnet:

Door/window contact II [+M]

  • Can be used flexibly in the Bosch Smart Home system or regardless of manufacturer in all Matter Smart Home systems.
  • With particularly small and discreet magnets: also practical for cupboards, drawers, letterboxes, cat flaps, skylights etc.
  • Protection for windows which are less attractive to burglars (e.g. on the upper floor).

Door/window contact II

  • With particularly small and discreet magnets: also practical for cupboards, drawers, letterboxes, cat flaps, skylights etc.
  • Protection for windows which are less attractive to burglars (e.g. on the upper floor).

Door/window contact II plus

  • Thanks to the vibration sensor, this version detects break-in attempts even before uninvited guests have managed to get into your home
  • Optimal protection for break-in weak points: balcony/patio doors, front doors, basement doors and windows on the ground floor and basement level
  • Recommended for use outdoors, as the vibration sensor can also detect manipulation attempts and the magnet can also be mounted using screws.

Here’s how it works

Mounting the door/window contact II (plus) correctly

Mounting the door/window contact II (plus) correctly

No matter whether you have the door/window contact II or the door/window contact II plus version – thanks to the supplied adhesives and intuitive step-by-step instructions in the app, you can mount your smart sensor quickly and with ease.

The following applies for mounting:

  • Door/window contact II: The window sensor (the larger component) is affixed to the window frame; the small magnet, at just 3 mm in thickness, is affixed to the part of the window that moves.
  • Door/window contact II plus: The thin magnet piece is stuck onto the window frame; the window and vibration sensor (the larger component) is affixed to the part of the window that moves – thus allowing the sensor to detect the vibrations of break-in attempts at the window.

Using the break-in protection alarm system

Using the break-in protection alarm system

The break-in protection alarm system is a clever, pre-configured service in your Bosch Smart Home app . Smart sensors and alarm device work perfectly together. You just need to activate the alarm system.

Practical: if there are windows/doors open somewhere when you activate the system, you are made aware of these security gaps. In this way, you can decide for yourself whether you would like to close it, or whether you are confident that it can be left open in your absence as well. If your door/window contact (plus) later detects that uninvited guests have opened a door or a window, or the vibration sensor on your door/window contact plus detects vibrations at the window, it will trigger the alarm in multiple ways.

  • The sirens of smoke alarms , Twinguards and outdoor sirens sound.
  • Smart coloured lamps flash red.
  • Your smart light illuminates the scene.
  • Indoor cameras and outdoor cameras give you an immediate overview.
  • You are informed via push notification with camera live feed, and can call the police directly via the emergency button in the app screen.

This means that burglars quickly take flight – even before they were able to gain entry, if you have the door/window contact plus.

Using the button as a trigger for actions

Using the button as a trigger for actions

Not just window sensors, also thin smart switches: thanks to the preconfigured break function, the button on your door/window contact (plus) pauses the sensor when you press it twice, and also serves as a manual trigger for actions or scenarios – simply assign a short and long press of the button in the app to suit your individual needs.

The button is configured following the same if-then principle as your smart automations, for example:

  • IF you press the button for a long time, THEN you trigger the “Leaving home” scenario – and get your house ready for you to go out with just one tap of the button: alarm system activated, lights switched off, heating turned down, power supply for smart plug cut off, etc.
  • IF you press the button for a short time AND your smart lamp is on/off, THEN it will be switched off/on.

This means that the door/window contact (plus) is not merely an alert sensor, but also a multi-functional control module.

Creating smart automations

Creating smart automations

Just like with all Bosch Smart Home devices, you can also incorporate your door/window contact (plus) into custom automations following the if-then principle. Just like with the alarm system, other smart devices spring into action (and/or you are notified), IF ...:

  • your door/window contact (plus) detects opening/closing or vibration,
  • the button is pressed,
  • or doors/windows have been opened/closed for a certain time.

There are no limits to your creativity. Some of our favourite automations are:

  • Sneaky snacker alarm: Does your child regularly sneak to the kitchen and grab some sweets in secret? Simply affix a door/window contact (plus) to the cupboard where you keep those enticing treats. IF the cupboard door is opened, THEN you receive a push notification and can also trigger a lamp to be switched on, for instance.
  • Mosquito protection: If your door/window contact (plus) detects that you have opened a window for ventilation in the evening after 6 p.m., all smart lamps in the room are switched off automatically.

And also: even more options are open to you thanks to the automations that can be created with devices from different manufacturers by integrating your door/window contact (plus) into Apple HomeKit .

Using it outdoors

Using it outdoors

The Bosch Smart Home door/window contact (plus) has been certified with protection class IP45 – and is thus also suitable for use outdoors, for instance, for your:

  • Garage door
  • Letterbox
  • Yard gate and garden gate
  • Summer house, pergola or tool and bike shed
  • Greenhouse
  • Kennel, rabbit hutch or stable
  • etc.

This means that you are always informed if someone is getting their hands on your possessions outside – and you don’t need to run out any more to check if something is open.

Practical: at the same time, you can use the button on your door/window contact (plus), for example, to switch on the garden lighting.
